USUI REIKI LEVELS
“Take a bite, you don't have to believe in Reiki for it to have a deep effect on you. You don't have to believe that fruit is delicious in order to enjoy it but you will have to take a bite first”
The Usui Reiki has 6 or 7 main levels or degrees. Generally, a group of people attend a Reiki One level course with a Reiki Master Teacher. The master with the permission and willingness of the student explains basic principles and procedures of Reiki. Four "attunements or initiations", which are around 5 minutes are given to the student by the teacher. The initiations open the Reiki channel allowing reiki to flow easily from the universal energy surrounding us through the student. The course duration is traditionally four sessions, most often given in 3, or 4 consecutive days. After completing the first degree course, the student can treat himself, other people, animals, plants and objects.
In the Second Degree Reiki course, the student learns the use of three symbols. Another attunement is given, which further increases the capacity for Reiki to flow through the student, as well as empowering the use of the symbols. After completing the second level, the student can send reiki at any distance, at any time and for any person or purpose.
The student usually waits for a minimum of one year from the time of his/her Reiki two initiation to attain the Third Degree or Master degree. Through the third degree one or more attunements are carried out and the student learns another symbol. After completing the master training, the new Reiki Master can attune other people to Reiki and teach the three degrees of Reiki.
There are also other levels which are 4, 5 a and b and 6. Higher energies are channeled and more symbols are given in each of those levels.
There are also other Reiki branches such as Rainbow, Kundalini and Karuna Reiki among many others. But it is thought that the Usui Reiki is the traditional and original Reiki teaching.
Reiki is very simple, easy and requires no preconditions – just the willingness to receive. So take a bite of that Apple!
